I Need to See God!

Things happen to us, sometimes, in the most unexpected ways with the most undesired outcome. Sometimes, it brings negative emotions and thoughts to us that makes us look at things so negatively. Sometimes, we lose hope. At other times, we lose faith.

I realize that in everything and at all times, I need to see God. I cannot afford to miss seeing God in every circumstance that I am in, whether good or bad. I need to see His hand... I need to feel His presence...

Then, i came across one very special verse in the Bible... Matthew 5:8 says "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

It dawned upon me that seeing God is not just about some special, once-in-a-lifetime experience of encountering and seeing God, but it's about seeing God in everything, everyday! It's about a continuous recognition of God's presence in every circumstance we are in. But how can we really see God in everything at all times? More so, how can we see God in a negative situation?

Then, the Lord spoke to me... "it takes a pure heart to see Me at all times in all things." Then, He started showing me the picture of my heart... that everytime I experience something negative and I allow negative emotions to enter into my heart, I miss seeing Him. All I can see is the negative thing that the situation has brought upon me, as well as the negative in the person involved. Why? Because I have made my heart impure... that I could not see God anymore.

When we face marital problems (or any problem with relationships) and we allow hatred and vengeance to creep upon our hearts, we start losing sight of God in our marriage. All we see is the negative in our spouse and our marriage. We cannot see God with an impure heart!

When we face financial problems and we allow doubt and fears to come upon our hearts, we miss seeing God and His power to provide. All we see is an empty pocket while there is a lot of bills waiting to be paid. We cannot see God with an impure heart!

Whenever we allow negative emotions and thoughts to linger in our hearts, we start losing sight of God.

So, we need to keep our hearts pure so we will keep on seeing God. Let us not allow negative thoughts and emotions to dwell in our hearts... for only the pure in heart shall see God.

I need to see God... I need a pure heart...
